Maxon wins Excellence In Development Award
December 15, 2005
Atlanta, Georgia
Maxon, a District Energy and Green Power developer, was awarded the Excellence In Development Award by the Fulton County Development Authority. The award was presented for the Maxon Atlantic Station District Energy Plant completed this year at Atlantic Station. The award goes to the developments that show leadership and design excellence on projects developed in Atlanta.
The fully built-out District Energy Plant at Atlantic Station will save building owners more than $35 million in construction costs, while operating more than 25 percent more efficiently than traditional building HVAC systems. This will result in lower energy bills for tenants.
The Development Authority of Fulton County, an independent arm of the Fulton County Economic Development Department, unlocks the door to financing by issuing taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Bondholders are exempt from federal and state taxes, which typically results in comparatively low interest rates for amounts from a few thousand dollars to a billion or more. The Development Authority of Fulton County is the most successful of forty-seven development authorities in Georgia, and leads all others in the southeastern U.S. in issuing successful bond-financed projects.
Maxon develops, finances, constructs, and operates innovative District Energy and Green Power projects. Maxon has grown into a multifaceted company delivering unique and complex Energy projects to the industrial, commercial, institutional and governmental markets. Maxon will be responsible for building, owning, operating and maintaining the chiller plant and other infrastructure at Atlantic Station.
